First Call Thoroughbreds, is a 501c3 non-profit founded in Maine of '23 governed by 5 board members and great volunteers. Our Mission is to rehab, retrain, and rehome off the track thoroughbreds heading to an uncertain fate due to different life situations.
With your help we are opening doors to unlimited opportunities for these fantastic post track horses.
Meet the board members!
Michele Whitmore, founder/president and trainer of First call thoroughbreds and lifelong horse love of 20+ years. Micheles love for OTTBS started many years ago when she dreamed of breezing racehorses directly on the track. Where that never happened, she settled for training OTTBs for post track careers once they retired. Quickly realizing how many thoroughbreds end up in the wrong hands and on the wrong truck. She decided even if we can only help a few at a time its better than none at all... so First Call Thoroughbreds of Maine was born! Learn more about Michele in the About me tab.

"Olivia Ouellette is the treasurer of First Call TBS of Maine and owner of Clean Books LLC. When she’s not chasing around her 3-year-old son, she loves to spend her time outside in the garden, taking walks and hikes with her dog, Pheebea and boating with her family. She is in the process of building her new home in the country and can’t wait to begin her homestead. "
